The Jefferson Forest High School Key Club did so well with the Christmas party at Westminster Canterbury, they were invited back for Valentine's Day. Here is the group showing off their home made Valentines for the residents.
Here are some of our members at a recent club luncheon meeting. They are listening to our speaker Daniel Bowman of the Lynchburg Riverviews Artspace project. Daniel is typical of the interesting and topical speakers who visit with the club.

The Kiwanis Club planted a tree in 1937 in Riverside Park in honor of Virginia statesman Carter Glass. Alas, weather took its toll and the tree had to come down. What to do? Well, plant another one of course. That's exactly what we did on March 21, 2003. Here is the group attending the dedication of the new tree.

Two of our Circle K clubs (those are the Kiwanis service clubs at the college level) recently held a 'bowl-a-thon' to raise money for AIDS research. They raised $1000! Depicted are Circle K members from Randolph-Macon and Lynchburg College. That's our LC faculty advisor, Glenn Buck, at lower left, and our club president, Norm Jones, towering in the rear.

After a few years absence Lynchburg College once again has an active Circle K Club. Pictured here is the club on their first outing for this academic year. They decorated the Pediatrics Ward at Virginia Baptist Hospital for Christmas.

Every Year the club conducts a Teddy Bear Parade. It is part of the city's Kaleidoscope event in September. Young children dress up in costume, dress their favorite bear, and win prizes for their costumes. Shown here are two young participants from the 2002 parade, along with our mascot Biff.

We go into the schools to teach about dealing with violence.  In cooperation with Dunbar and Sandusky Middle Schools a six session curriculum on positive means of conflict resolution is conducted by Kiwanians. Pictured here are members Pegeen Greissmayer and Dick Neth in a Dunbar classroom.
